Bryo Technologies maintains an active research program to find the most effective ways to monitor and control bryozoans and other fouling micro-organisms.

For example,

• Our pioneering techniques to grow bryozoans under lab conditions have now become the standard used worldwide;
• In the lab we routinely measure the effectiveness of new control strategies under various conditions of pH, temperature, and water flow;
• We have developed a new generation of on-site monitoring devices, including statoblast traps and specialized growth chambers to detect and quantify bryozoan activity;
• We retain access to a scanning electron microscope and molecular genetic facilities for precise species tracking and identification.
